I was scrolling through a few roles on Seek this week and they reminded me:
- Everyone is hiring.
- Very few are hiring well.
Most ads focus on:
- Responsibilities
- Requirements
- Perks
But miss the only thing that matters:
+ Why should I take this role, right now?
+ When should you hire?
Too many businesses hire too late when pipeline is under pressure and results are slipping.
That’s not growth hiring. That’s damage control.
Great businesses hire early, based on:
- Pipeline coverage
- Conversion trends
- Team capacity
What should your job ad include?
+ If you want A-players:
+ The mission (what success looks like)
+ The problem (what needs fixing)
+ The opportunity (why now)
+ The expectations (how they’re measured)
+ The reality (be honest)
Top talent don’t apply. They evaluate.
If your ad looks like everyone else’s…You’ll attract the available, not the best.
